Unhappy Revamp all of the Collectors

While I will admit the GW has made a decent attempt to establish collectors that offer worthwhile items in the Factions release, they are still missing the mark with a great many of them. In Prophecies, there is a collector standing just outside Grendich Courthouse that offers a beltpouch! What a waste, delete him for crying out loud. You have a master list of the collectors, their locations and items. It is well past time for a serious review of their necessity. More often than not, the items offered are well below level or otherwise just plain useless. That is one mistake that should not have ever been allowed to be carried over to future chapters of this game.

I still use my Shocking Ascalon Flatbow that's outside the Sanitarium (usually when going with a Beast Mastery, low Marksmanship build).

I really like that bow, and I like having the option of having some of those other low level weopons too (I actually used the wand from outside Nolani for a LONG time too).

Some of the other "useless" collectors are still fun to see, and randomly useful.

Well, if you don't have a belt pouch by the time you reach grendich... i dunno...

I still have that fire wand with the increased attack speed too^^.

How about adding items to collector's that offer max damage weapons?

There is no +15 energy domination wand that is max. The only one is in maguuma, and its not max. Even with the new Factions collector's. I've looked.


Oh, and I LOVE my shocking ascalon bow. My warrior uses it to pull. As for the wand from Nolani-*pfft* at the nerf, it was great for building adrenaline. And if the PvP-only people didn't like it, they could go make themselves a PvE warrior and get it that way, or keep it in their storage.

hum maybe just put a "Level Dependent" aspect to all collectors, low level char will get low level item and high level char will get high level stuff. Will cost more and more of the collecting farm item to get the collector item. so it will be harder to get. It is simple to implement and way better to make them usefull.

Ok, I see that there are alot of sensitive ppl out there. Plz, take the forums for what they are, suggestions. I do not mean to delete items that are actually useful in the game. Those collectors could simply be put in a more appropriate place. Take the armor collectors for example, if one exists that offers armor better than you can get before you find the collector, then I have yet to find him/her. And I am not talking about getting a run from Ascalon to Droks as a lvl 2. This has been addressed in Factions, but it has not been fixed in Prophecies. And even in Factions, GW admittedly states that getting to lvl 20 was made easy intentionlly, so one could enjoy the content of the game. So, any character with a guild could get Kaineng armor without wasting their time collecting the Skull coins.

I'm glad that some of you enjoy using your low lvl gear, heck I have a Serpent axe just for looks. But the bottom line is a lot of time could have been better spent with just a little more thought in this department. And just imagine, if you like what you have, you very well could have loved what you could have had.

Like a collector that offer you to upgrade the dmg on one of your weapon in exchange of gold, rare materials and other collector stuff...

SO, you're saying the collectors need to be removed because YOU think the stuff they offer is useless?

Frankly, I find the collectors in Factions useless because theres always a green item that people will buy over the same item just without the crap name...

I think most collector item are pretty useless...
They just don't server their job, and the job is to provide a rewarding reward to attract people to "grind", or treasure hunt (for better words) to kill mobs to get their unqiue drops.

Some are great, but many are often overshadow by the gold and greens, which one can get with somewhat ease (assume you have the gold)

Make the more unique. Give them more unique and intersting stats, or give them better skin (why the plasma sword look like folk sword?). Make them more worthwhile to collect.

um collector items are perfect 20/20 or perfect +15%....... every caster in the game should have a totem axe + a collector focus ><.

So I can farm charr as a L20 and trade their easily gotten stuff for max armor? Yes please!

The "job" of the collectors items are to provide max level equipment so everyone can be equally effective without farming for 2301924908 hours like in MMORPGs.

Level dependent reward, collectors that upgrade stuff with materials. Collectors that give you quest for a specific item so you can have a better reward and so on... those thing were easy to implement... but ANET is too hasteful in the development.
